Motueka company makes history with world’s first Google Street View skydive

Few businesses get an offer out of the blue proposing a world-first opportunity.

However, an unexpected phone call to Motueka-based company Skydive Abel Tasman from Google-certified photographer Alex Mather two weeks ago presented marketing manager David Bonham-Carter with a cold call he could not ignore.

The pitch – putting the world’s first skydive experience onto Google Street View.

Skydive Abel Tasman owner Stuart Bean was on holiday in New York when he received a call from Bonham-Carter notifying him of Mather’s offer.
